Red Door’s Custom Sewing and Carried Fabric Lines

Red Door’s Custom Sewing and Carried Fabric Lines

Working with a professional interior designer can truly improve the impact of your home decor projects. A designer can creatively pull unique design elements together in your home that, alone, you may not have seen. In our past blogs, you’ve learned about Red Door’s unique offering of wallpaper services and Room Refresh. Now we would like to draw your attention to our custom sewing services and the amazing lines of fabric that we carry.

Custom Sewing

Kathy Lathrop is our dedicated and talented seamstress. She has been sewing and upholstering for her entire life, which I would say qualifies her as an expert. Her favorite things to sew are home decor items, which means she’ll love helping you create that perfect-fit sewn decor item that “wows.” With many completed projects and her years of experience, custom-sewn decor is yet another fabulous design service Red Door offers.

There are a multitude of items we can create for you. Whether you’re after that perfect punch of color in your living room or you want the duvet of your dreams for your bedroom, the possibilities are endless!

Here’s a list of some of the items Kathy can custom sew for you:

  • drapery panels
  • throw pillows
  • duvet covers
  • seat cushions
  • table runners

It’s one thing to buy furniture or accessories from a store, but wouldn't you like to show off a piece that only you own? There is a lushness and quality seen in custom sewn pieces that eclipses any decor items bought in stores.

Prices do range, depending on the project, and Kathy is happy to provide an estimate upon request.

Fabric Lines We Carry

Of course, there wouldn’t be any sewing without inspiring fabric! We worked hard to identify lines of fabric that were on trend, beautiful but don’t break the bank. We reviewed many lines but chose textiles of the highest quality that were not overly expensive.

Robert Allen

Robert Allen carries a wide assortment of modern textiles. Their colors and patterns will have you dreaming of eye-catching throw pillows and breathtaking cushions. Their fabrics are exclusive and will have you sorting through them for hours on end.

Maxwell

These modern yet classic designs by Maxwell are positively stunning. They are a third generation, family-run business. You know that means everything is saturated in personal touch, which makes designing with their products all the more enjoyable. You’ll want to cocoon yourself in yards of their elegant fabrics just looking at them.

Crypton Fabric

This is the cherry on top of the ice cream when it comes to the topic of custom sewing. If you haven’t heard of Crypton, you’re in for a special treat.

Located in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, this innovative product is created with constant and close attention to details. What’s so special about it? Crypton is nearly stain-proof!

The fabric is manufactured in such a way that there’s nothing else like it. With layers of protection, you get the combination of both a beautiful design and functionality. On top of it being a strong and beautiful fabric that’s touchable and durable, you get many other qualities with it.

  • Stain Resistant
  • Moisture Resistant
  • Odor Resistant
  • Abrasion Resistant
  • Burn Resistant

Not only that, but it’s also easy to clean! It’s so simple that you probably already own everything you need to be able to remove any little mess and restore it back to like-new condition.

It’s also highly eco-friendly, and is Greenguard Gold Certified. You can be sure you’re supporting a unique and safe product by going with Crypton.

It’s no wonder we love to create so much custom decor when there are wonderful companies like these to work with. There’s something rewarding about being able to claim a piece as original, and these manufacturers support such ideals whole-heartedly.

Whether you know exactly what you want or you only have an inkling of inspiration, Red Door wants to be there for you when it comes to your custom pieces. Stop by the studio to inquire about our custom sewing services, or contact us by phone or through our website.
